Exploring Grade 4 with Mrs. Colhoun

What a fantastic week we had at Andrew Sibbald School! Students enjoyed our annual Stampede Pancake Breakfast and were treated to an amazing Glee Club performance. Our talented performers did a wonderful job singing six songs and showcased their hard work, confidence, and enthusiasm. A huge thank you goes to Ms. Odegard, Ms. Hatchett, and Ms. Swanson for the time, energy, and dedication they put into making the performance such a success. It was a wonderful way to wrap up the second-last week of school and celebrate all that our students have accomplished this year. There has been lots of excitement, learning, and celebration throughout the school, and we are looking forward to making the most of our final week together!

This week, students participated in our Grade 4 Sexual Health unit, as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum. Our learning focused on puberty and the physical, social, and emotional changes that can occur as children grow and develop. Students had opportunities to ask questions, build their understanding, and discuss ways to care for their physical and emotional well-being. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home and invite students to share what they learned and any questions they may still have. Students who did not have permission to participate in the Sexual Health lessons worked on an alternative wellness assignment during this time. Thank you for your support in helping students develop a healthy understanding of growth and development.
